Event Details
Outdoor Adventures storytime will feature interactive stories about searching for wildlife, from Going on a Bear Hunt, going on a Tiger Hunt, and even looking out for sharks! Storytime will be held outside on the West Lawn (rain or excessive heat location: large meeting room, if available). Storytime features stories, songs, fingerplays, and hands-on activities.
In the summer, storytime is geared toward 3-6 years old, but families and all ages of kids who would enjoy the program are welcome. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket or towel to sit on, and lawn chairs are allowed around the edges of the storytime area. Storytime is free and requires no pre-registration (groups planning to attend with more than 8 kids should call the library for options, 641-754-5738, ext. 3). Balance boards, hula hoops, and other active toys are available before and after storytime for kids to play with.
A free sack lunch (for ages 1-18 years, as supplies last) through the Marshalltown School District's summer lunch program, is available for an after-storytime picnic on the lawn.
