Event Details
Our film series for adults continues on Monday, September 23 at 2:00pm in the library's community meeting rooms. The library will show the film Forrest Gump (1994). The film series will continue every fourth Monday of the month at 2:00pm.
Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy-drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth. It is based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom and stars Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field. The film follows several decades in the life of a slow-witted, yet kindhearted Alabama man and his experiences in the 20th-century United States. The film differs substantially from the novel.
Join our film critic, Tom LaVille, for a great discussion after the movie, as well as free popcorn and lemonade. This event is free and open to the public, aged 18 and over. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Marshalltown Public Library.
