Our film series for adults returns on Monday, September 26 at 2:00pm in the library's community meeting rooms. The library will show the film Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). The film series will continue every fourth Monday of the month at 2:00pm.
Treasure of the Sierra Madre is an American Western film written and directed by John Huston. It is an adaptation of B. Traven's 1927 novel of the same name, set in 1925, and follows two downtrodden men (played by Humphrey Bogart and Tim Holt) who join forces with a grizzled old prospector (Walter Huston, the director's father), in searching for gold in Mexico.
Join our film critic, Tom LaVille, for a great discussion after the movie, as well as free popcorn and lemonade. This event is free and open to the public, aged 18 and over. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Marshalltown Public Library.
