Dr. Dave Markward will speak at the Marshalltown Public Library on Tuesday, December 3 at 2:00pm in the library's community meeting rooms. Dr. Markward will be talking about his book, From Dubuque to Selma and Beyond: My Journey to Understanding Racism in America. Books will be available for sale after the presentation.
Intertwining his personal growth with significant historical events and figures, this remarkable memoir delves into the heart of America's racial divides. Through thought-provoking questions at the start of each chapter, the former Superintendent of the Cedar Rapids Community School District challenges readers to assess their own understanding of racism and their progress to understand and value diversity.
