Understanding Addiction and Recovery: Information for Family, Friends, and Caregivers

Rachel Ohlsen, prevention specialist with Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare, will be at the Marshalltown Public Library on Tuesday, March 11 at 5:30pm to give a presentation on Understanding Addiction and Recovery. The presentation will take place in the library's community meeting rooms. 

During this training, attendees will define what addiction is and how thinking about addiction has evolved based on science. Then, attendees will take time to understand the recovery process and how family, friends and caregivers play a huge role in supporting the process. Attendees will learn about resources in the community and help them to understand how to make self-care plans.
