Event Details
The Marshalltown Public Library will hold a paper quilling workshop on Friday, October 13 at 5:30pm in the library’s community meeting rooms, presented by Emily Mallory of Emily’s Papercrafts.
Those who wish to attend must pre-register for the event—registration can be done on the library’s online events calendar. Members of the public can also call (641-754-5738 ext. 2) or come into the library’s Check-Out Desk to register. This event is sponsored by the library and is free to the community.
During this workshop, attendees will learn the basic techniques of paper quilling while creating several magnets. Quilling is a craft that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The group will make several different designs so attendees will leave the program feeling comfortable doing more on their own. All supplies are provided. This event is for high school students and adults.
Emily Mallory's lifelong interest in quilling and other paper arts led to the opening of Emily's Papercrafts in 2011. Emily's works are regularly featured in art displays around the Seattle area. Emily has taught countless paper crafting classes at public libraries, coffeeshops, retirement homes, and private parties as well as online. Emily lives in Kansas with her family.
