Carrie Barr and Julie Bousum, the author/illustrator duo of the new picture book Leonard and Mildred Play Hide and Seek at Grimes Farm, will share the book with kids and families. They will talk about the process of writing, researching, and illustrating the book, answer questions, and kids will have a chance to try out an art activity similar to the one used in the illustrations.
The book, is meant to be a guide to explore Grimes Farm, and includes a QR code that is an interactive map to the sites featured in the book. Families can earn an activity badge in the "Read Off the Beaten Path" summer reading program by viewing the map and finding some of the sites while visiting the park.
Following the program, books will be available in the lobby or sale and signing until noon. All proceeds from this book benefit the Friends of Marshall County Conservation.
