Program Description

Event Details

KidSight is free walk-in vision screening (held in the youth department) is for children ages 6 months to kindergarten-aged and is a joint project with Lions Clubs of Iowa and the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. Lions volunteers will use a special camera to take an image of your child's eyes. The results are evaluated by specialists for early detection of problems. A consent form signed by a parent is needed (and can be filled out that day, or picked up ahead of time at the youth desk if another caregiver will be bringing your child to the screening.) Early detection is important to keep eyes healthy! For more information, see the Kid Sight website at: https://kidsight.medicine.uiowa.edu/forms-and-brochures...

Storytime this day, held at 10:30 am to 11:00 am will feature songs and stories about eyes and glasses, followed by playtime in the Blue Room, with imaginative toys.
