Summer reading isn’t just for kids! Join us at the Marshalltown Public Library as we begin our Adult Summer Reading Program, "Read Renew Repeat”.  Our kickoff party will be on Tuesday, June 11th at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s community meeting rooms.

At the party, you’ll be able to have an ice cream sundae and choose your own toppings at our ice cream sundae bar. The party will also give you the chance to swap recommendations for summer reading with other attendees and get some ideas for books you may want to read during the summer reading program.

This year, we'll be having a book swap--bring a book to leave, and you’ll be able to bring a book home with you!

We will also discuss all of the fun activities we’ll be having as a part of our adult summer reading program: hear about our film series, classes on composting and crafting,  and presentations from Jeff Stein about broadcasters from Iowa going to war, Scott Reister about his new baseball mystery, and from storyteller Darrin Crow about tales of Iowa history.

Join us for a summer treat and to have some fun discussing your favorite reads! Call the library’s Information Desk for more info at 641-754-5738 ext. 4.
